Dan Bolda – CFP®, AIF®, ERPA

Owner and Founder

Registered Principal, Investment Advisor Representative, Registered Representative

Back in 1996, as a young but hopeful 33 year-old, Dan did what all the 401k experts advise against. He cashed in his 401(k) to start Michigan Pension & Financial, Inc. 25 years plus later, he still maintains that one size does not fit all. Sometimes the conventional approach is absolutely the best path forward. Sometimes it is not.

The thing he enjoys most about his role at Michigan Pension today, is helping clients determine the best approach forward, for them and their future.

Michigan Pension has a distinctive business model, we call it Producing TPA. This model reduces the number of professionals required to maintain your plan, which reduces your expenses while ensuring that the right hand knows what the left hand is doing by delivering customized personal service.

Dan earned his B.A. from Michigan State University. As an avid chess player, Dan tied for 3rd place in the 2005 Michigan Open Chess Championship. A GM (Grandmaster) won the event and a former World Junior Champion and IM (International Master) finished second. Today his goal is speed chess, to hold his own at New York City’s famous Washington Square Park.

Patti Bolda

Office Manager

Patti has 23 years’ experience as an Executive Assistant/Office Manager at a pension administration company – not the pension administration company her husband owns. After 33 years of marriage, she figures she has trained Dan well enough to join Michigan Pension.

Speaking of family, her son is a pension actuary who dates a health insurance actuary. Her daughter is a product development actuary who married an insurance actuary. She can hardly wait for grandchildren.

Patti earned her B.A. from Michigan State University. She enjoys travel, both international and across the USA and immersing herself in a good book.
